Heavy equipment works hard, and over time that wear shows up first in the pivot points. BTR Welding completed a line bore welding repair on an excavator arm (dipper stick) to restore worn pin and bushing bores back to proper factory alignment.
The excavator had:
• Elongated and uneven pin bores
• Excessive play at the dipper stick pivot
• Misalignment causing uneven wear on pins and bushings
If left uncorrected, this type of wear can damage surrounding components, reduce digging efficiency, and lead to expensive part replacement.
Excessive wear in these areas can lead to sloppy movement, accelerated component damage, and costly downtime. Our goal on this repair was simple: get the machine back to tight tolerances and back to work as quickly as possible.
